# Node.js SDK - OutboundStream.permissions

## OutboundStream.permissions property

Gets or sets the default permissions granted to peers within this outbound stream. See also [OutboundStream.getPeerPermission()](./nodejs-sdk-outboundstream-getpeerpermission) which facilities modifying specific peer permissions, overriding this default.
